Great loss of Jan Roadhouse

SAC announced this sad news on May 21, 2014:

“Last week, the S-LP community lost a passionate and tireless advocate for communication health: Jan Roadhouse passed away after a long battle with cancer. In this touching article, Carol Steedman Goff reflects on some of Jan’s most significant accomplishments, one of which was a partnership with herself and her husband, Steve Goff, who suffered a stroke 20 years ago and subsequently developed aphasia.

Jan spent a lot of time working with aphasia programs at the Adult Recreation Therapy Centre in Brantford, where she was an inspiration to many. She went out of her way to connect with volunteers, staff and families and, in the words of Taz Moosa, Jan’s friend and colleague, had a “solid work ethic, selfless drive, compassion and understanding.” Jan also acted as a mentor, leader and a friend to those around her. She will be missed.”
